what is a mole

A mole is molecular, atomic or formula mass substance evaluate in grams is called mole. In chemistry, mole is standard unit for measure very small quantity with large. Avogadro's are present in one molar mass. Units of mole also bears the name of Avogadro's number. Avogadro was Italian physicist birth in 1776.His law evaluate the equal number of gasses in same condition of molecules.

We know substance may be compound or element. Element may be a molecular or ionic. These masses like a molecular, atomic and formula unit is amu. A mole amount contain on 6.02*1023 particles. The abbreviation of mole is mol. According to substance number of particular or atoms are same.

mole

For example

  • 1 mole of water is equal to molecular mass of H2O as 18 gram.
  • One mole of carbon is equal to atomic mass of carbon as 12g
  • 1 Mole of NaCI is equal to formula mass of NaCI as 58.5 gram

Here, the connection between mass and mole show in:

Mass of substance = number of mole*molar mass

 One mole of ethyl weighs 46.06 grams. We know one mole water weighs is equal to 18 g. If both are mix with each other it become mixture one molecule ethyl per molecule of water. With the help of mole count atoms in laboratory easily.

If weigh one mole of sulfur and one mole of iron, you know that these two sample contain on same atoms. Second definition of mole can use to search of one amu in gram. 12 grams of carbon consist  NA atoms, every is accurate 12amu.

In the field of chemistry atomic weight play a vital role. It is use to evaluate mass of one formula, molecule or atom unit in which atom/amu. Now a days, mostly chemists prefer to molar mass for mass of mole.
  Based on the formula of glucose, C6H12O6, user make the following equations:

        One molecule of glucose contains 12 atoms of H, 6 atoms of C, and 6 atoms of O;
     One mole of glucose contains 6 moles of C atoms, 6 moles of O atoms, and 12 moles of H atoms;
     Ten molecule of glucose contains 60 atoms of O, 60 atoms of C, and  120 atoms of H;
     Ten moles of glucose contains 60 moles of O, 60 moles of C atoms, and  120 moles of H;
     Any amount of glucose contains equal numbers of O and C atoms, and twice this number of H .

Chemical Calculations

Calculation number of mass and number of particles use in chemical calculation. These are depend on mole concept. Formula of finding the number of moles is:
number of moles=known mass of substance/molar mass of substance

Mole-Mass Calculation

For finding the mass of substance equation is use to calculate number mass multiple by molar mass.
mass of substance=number of moles*molar mass

Mole-Particle Calculation

In this calculation for finding the number of mole given number of particular divide on Avogadro's number.
number of mole=given number of particles/Avogadro's number

In last we discuss Avogadro's numbers with detail:

Avogadro's Number

Amaedo Avogadro was Italian scholar born in 1776. Avogadro's law is famous for molecular theory. In chemistry substance which are combination of formula, atoms and molecules units. For chemist counting of these particles impossible but Avogadro's provide the facility of counting.
Chemical combination of atoms is called molecule. Smallest unit of substance is molecule. Some types of molecule are mono-atomic, diatomic, diatomic, homo-atomic and hetero-atomic molecules.
If only one molecule it is mono-atomic molecule. For example helium, neon and organ.
The combination of two molecule atoms it is diatomic molecule.  Xxample hydrogen, oxygen and HCL.
If combination of three atoms molecule it is triatomic molecule. For example methane and glucose.
The combination of many atoms molecule it is polyatomic molecule.  Example methane and glucose. Heteroatomic consist of various types of atoms.
